Organizing a day-long khadi fair in Cumilla

Cumilla district is famous for khadi. Hundreds of years ago, khadi was introduced exclusively in this district. When we think about khadi, the firs thing that comes to our mind is Cumilla. If the government and private organizations can come together and organize a day-long khadi fair in Cumilla, it will play a big role in promoting khadi. However, the main purpose of organizing the fair should be promotion of khadi. Sales is the main goal of fair in most cases, product promotion do not get much priority. District Academy of Fine Arts can take such an initiative. Khadi traders and entrepreneurs can join with the academy to make this initiative successful. In this fair participators can showcase khadi dresses so that people can know what kind of products are  made using khadi fabric. There are also many districts besides Cumilla district and at present the communication system is also very good. So entrepreneurs from other districts can also participate in this fair. In this way, when so many people would participate in one event, words about khadi will spread quickly and so many people will know about this great product. The participating entrepreneurs and sellers will promote khadi. The media can play an important role in making the fair a success. Media will promote the fair all over Bangladesh. I am hopeful that if we take the first initiative and organize fairs in our home districts then gradually it will spread in other districts as well.
