A large portion of the people in our country are poor and unemployed. They cannot employed in any sector. Hand-woven khadi can be a great way for their development. From the history of khadi, we come to know that when the demand of khadi increased in the monastery, it also drove the demand for looms that are used to make khadi. Hence, people engaged in making khadi looms and sold them for it was necessary at that time. If we analyze today’s market, we would notice similar situation. There is demand for khadi but it is not possible to meet that demand due to lack of weavers. We must come forward in order to help khadi weavers to continue their age-old profession. As more weavers become interested to make khadi, it would drive up the demand of looms and we need people to make these looms. If it can be done then many poor people in rural areas will get jobs. By making looms then will be able to earn their livelihood and improve their economic condition. As the demand for every domestic product increases, it will help in creating new employment and as a result, on the one hand, market of domestic products will increase and on the other hand, it will play an important role in reducing unemployment in the country.
