The number of internet users is increasing day by day and looking at the current situation it is clearly evident that people will become more dependent on Internet in the coming days. People of all ages are now showing interest in online shopping. If they find a trusted place, they would feel comfortable shopping online. Although khadi is a hundred year old tradition of our country but it is not widely promoted online and the scarcity of quality content on khadi is the main reason. In the last one and half year, we have seen an increase in the demand of various fabrics, including jamdani, khesh and woven fabrics only because of online promotion. A kind of confidence has been created in people’s minds towards online shopping. In order to maintain this trust we have to become serious about khadi’s online promotion. Creating quality khadi content online- people wearing khadi dress, podcasts, videos- should be given more effort. Only through promotion it is possible to attract more buyers. Hence, we have to ensure more media exposure of khadi products through publishing quality articles and features. Internet is now the best medium for promoting domestic product. The more technology we can integrate technology with with our own initiatives, the more growth we will have.
